This session focuses on tangible practices businesses can begin or strengthen, to better support2SLGBTQ+ employees (Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, Queer and more).
The workshop will cover, barriers 2SLGBTQ+ individuals face while accessing employment, steps businesses can take to create more inclusive policies and practices, how to better recruit and retain 2SLGBTQ+ employees and how businesses can strengthen their 2SLGBTQ+ resource networks.
Participants will be free to ask questions throughout the session, in addition to the dedicated Question and Answer period and will leave more empowered and better informed to make decisions which create meaningful and lasting change.

About the Host
Jordyn Samuels (she/her) is an Anti-Oppression based facilitator specializing in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion-based education.
She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from University of Toronto where she double-majored in Equity Studies and Sexual Diversity Studies.
Jordyn has over 17 years of experience providing Anti-Oppression, Anti-Racism, 2SLGBTQ+ education and EDI-focused topics such as Unconscious Bias and Microaggressions to schools, organizations and communities. Jordyn is currently the Owner and Lead EDI Consultant of Journeys InEquity Consulting.
Hosted by the VBEC every October, Small Business Week is a nationally recognized celebration of the contributions small businesses make to the economy.
