About Memory Loss Foundation
The Memory Loss Foundation is a Canadian registered charity founded in 2012 to improve the well-being, inclusion, independence, and quality of life of people living with memory challenges and those who support them. The Foundation provides practical education and training for older adults, family caregivers, Personal Support Workers, and other frontline care professionals. Its programs focus on dementia education, communication, digital literacy, responsible technology use, and strengthening the skills and confidence needed to provide safe, compassionate, person-centred care.
The Program: Dementia Care, Communication & Digital Literacy for PSWs
Through Talent City Vaughan, the Memory Loss Foundation will deliver three four-hour online training sessions for Personal Support Workers and frontline caregivers. The program combines dementia education, practical communication skills, and safe and responsible use of digital and AI tools. Participants will strengthen their understanding of dementia, develop person-centred communication and de-escalation strategies, and learn how to use emerging technologies appropriately in care settings. The program is designed to provide practical, workplace-relevant skills that participants can apply directly in their caregiving roles.
The Memory Loss Foundation is connected to the Vaughan community through its work with local care providers, community organizations, and frontline care professionals. The 2026 program builds on this local engagement by working with home-care agencies and community partners to reach eligible PSWs and caregivers. By strengthening dementia-care knowledge, communication skills, and digital literacy, the program supports workforce development, professional growth, job retention, and improved quality of care for older adults across Vaughan.
