Ontario invests more than $868,000 in support for Vaughan-based festival and event organizers

The provincial government has announced funding support through the Reconnect Festival and Event Program to help festival and event organizers deliver innovative and safe experiences that allow people to safely reconnect with their communities.

The announced funding for Vaughan-based recipients accounts for nearly 50 per cent of the funding allocated to events in York Region, and close to 30 per cent of all funds supporting festivals and events in the Regional Tourism Organization 6 (RTO6) which includes the regions of Durham, York and Headwaters.

Vaughan-based recipients include the following:

• 2021 Vaughan Latin Festival
• 90’s Nostalgia Presents: Canada Rocks
• Halloween Nights of Lights
• Pizza in the Park
• Toronto Garlic Festival
• Vaughan Celebrates Program
• VFF 2021 Drive-In

This funding will allow event organizers to continue to build consumer confidence, in addition to leveraging other support, such as the Vaughan Business Safe Travels Toolkit, and further establishes that Vaughan is growing into a destination for festivals and events.
