Talent City Grant Recipient Profile – Ontario Tourism Education Corporation (OTEC)
Talent City Vaughan is a first-of-its-kind municipal workforce development initiative that supports purpose-driven training initiatives across Vaughan. The 2025 cohort of grant recipients offers a host of in-demand training programs for Vaughan residents and employees of Vaughan-based businesses – like the Ontario Tourism Education Corporation (OTEC) De-Escalation training program!
The Program
Though Talent City Vaughan, OTEC will deliver a targeted training program focusing on building resiliency skills to support Vaughan’s Tourism and Hospitality sector, with a focus on frontline workers, customer service teams, managers, and business leaders. This program is designed to help participants develop practical skills to manage change, maintain performance under pressure, and lead others through uncertain times with confidence. By equipping participants with tools to manage pressure, build emotional awareness, and stay focused in challenging environments, the program aims to develop individuals who can lead with clarity, communicate with purpose, and support both colleagues and customers with confidence.
