About Steel Toe Careers

Steel Toe Careers is an equal opportunity organization dedicated to providing a supportive environment free of discrimination and harassment. Bursary decisions are made based on applicants’ needs and qualifications, ensuring fair access to our programs. We strive to identify priorities for unemployed youth and marginalized communities, support women in the construction industry, and provide equity of access. By equipping recipients with tool kits and personal protective equipment (PPE), raising career awareness, and challenging stigmas, we aim to inspire more careers in construction. Our goal is to maximize the potential in all our participants, discover their abilities, and provide mentoring, fostering social change and building employment opportunities through partnerships.

With more than 10,000 graduates and an impressive 88% employment rate, Skilled Trades College of Canada has significantly contributed to workforce development in Vaughan and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). It has expanded to five campuses across the GTA, connecting students with job opportunities and supporting contractors. By partnering with organizations like Achev, COSTI, Balmoral Aid and Support Services, and Aspire for Higher, Steel Toe Careers aims to alleviate financial barriers for unemployed youth, marginalized communities, and new Canadians, fostering job prosperity in the skilled trades in Vaughan and beyond.
