Talent City Vaughan Grant Recipient Profile – The Jewish Russian Community Centre of Ontario (JRCC)
Talent City Vaughan is a first-of-its-kind municipal workforce development initiative that supports purpose-driven training initiatives across Vaughan. The 2025 cohort of grant recipients offers a host of in-demand training programs for Vaughan residents and employees of Vaughan-based businesses – like The Jewish Russian Community Centre of Ontario’s Employment and Career Development Program!
The Program
Through Talent City Vaughan, the JRCC will deliver an Employment and Career Development Program from September to December 2025. Training will focus on resume writing, interview skills, leadership, time management, digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. Participants will build professional portfolios including resumes and LinkedIn profiles, and gain confidence navigating the Canadian job market. Workshops will be delivered in partnership with JVS Toronto, YEDi, and local business professionals, targeting Vaughan residents and employees aged 18–29.
About The Jewish Russian Community Centre of Ontario (JRCC)
The Jewish Russian Community Centre of Ontario, founded in the early 1980s, is a registered charitable organization dedicated to the social, cultural, and economic inclusion of diverse communities across the GTA. With 12 branches and over 500 volunteers, the JRCC offers a wide range of services including newcomer support, youth and senior programming, educational workshops, and community festivals. Our mission is to empower individuals through accessible, culturally sensitive programs that promote lifelong learning, personal development, and community engagement.
Over 60% of JRCC participants reside in Vaughan, and the organization has long-standing partnerships with local organizations, service providers, and employers. JRCC regularly hosts events, provides social services, and delivers educational programs throughout the region. Our programs address workforce gaps by equipping vulnerable youth, newcomers, and underrepresented populations with practical employment skills and confidence. The Talent City Vaughan program reflects our ongoing commitment to reducing employment barriers and supporting economic opportunity within the Vaughan community.
