The Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) is the largest and most ambitious development project in the City of Vaughan’s history – and the downtown core is transforming quickly. With rapid growth, increased interest in residential developments, an expanding workforce and growing visitor and commuter numbers, the City has initiated an update to the existing VMC Secondary Plan – and you’re invited to have your say! In 2020, the City kicked off an update to the plan by collecting public feedback on the issues, strengths and opportunities in the area. As updates progressed, citizens were recently invited to get involved by attending a live virtual Community Meeting in May. Thank you to those who attended. Now, the City is inviting you to review a recording of the meeting and participate in an online idea-generating exercise to share your preferred land use option. This exercise will be available at vaughan.ca/VMCPlan until Tuesday, June 14. Your input will help City staff further refine the priorities of the public for the area.
