Vaughan commits to Province’s Housing Pledge
Members of Council approved a staff report at the March 21 Council meeting that commits the City of Vaughan to achieving the Province’s Housing Pledge. The City’s provincially mandated housing target is 42,000 new homes by 2031. Before the provincial mandate, Council, staff, critical stakeholders and engaged citizens worked together to plan for the City’s future to build homes and complete communities. By aligning the needs of existing and new neighbourhoods with access to community infrastructure like roads, public transit, parks, community centres and green spaces, the City is leveraging innovative solutions to expedite permit approvals to get shovels in the ground faster and more efficiently.
